Energy expert to highlight retrofit and heating challenges at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Glasgow
Energy and heating specialist David Hilton will be among the speakers at this year’s Homebuilding and Renovating Show in Glasgow, taking place on 9 and 10 May at the SEC, where he will lead discussions on retrofit and home heating upgrades as pressure continues to build on the UK’s existing housing stock.
Complimentary tickets for two people, worth up to £24 each, are currently available HERE.
Speaking across both days of the event, Hilton will deliver two sessions in the Seminar Theatre. His talk From Old Home to Eco Home will explore the practical realities of retrofitting older properties to improve energy performance, while Upgrading Your Home Heating, Your Options Explained will outline the choices available to homeowners navigating rising energy costs and evolving regulation.
His sessions form part of the show’s wider focus on energy efficiency and decarbonisation, with increasing attention on how existing homes can be adapted to meet net zero targets while remaining practical and cost-effective.
The Scottish Homebuilding and Renovating Show will feature more than 140 exhibitors, alongside free seminars, masterclasses and one-to-one consultations with architects, builders and planning experts.
Hilton will be joined by a range of industry experts addressing broader challenges across housing delivery, design and planning.
Property expert Michael Holmes will share insights on improving build quality and avoiding common project pitfalls, while architect Allan Corfield will focus on design-led approaches to extending and making better use of existing homes.
The Homebuilding and Renovating Show takes place at the SEC Glasgow on 9 and 10 May 2026, bringing together homeowners, industry professionals and suppliers for a weekend of expert advice, seminars and product showcases.
