EY has announced the appointment of Jamie MacKenzie as head of pensions covenant advisory for Scotland.

Mr MacKenzie, a Chartered Accountant and an accredited mediator with the Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution, has more than 10 years’ experience of providing strategic pensions advice to trustees, corporates, investors, government and regulators, in relation to defined benefit pension schemes.

Prior to joining EY, he spent a decade working in London for Grant Thornton’s pensions advisory team.

Mr MacKenzie said: “EY has held a leading position in the pensions market for a long time and I am delighted to be joining a firm with such a strong brand and excellent growth potential, and look forward to working with the whole EY team to help drive the business forward.”

Mark Harvey, senior partner at EY in Scotland, added: “Jamie’s appointment is a demonstration of our intent to accelerate the growth of both our transactions practice and our wider business in Scotland. I am excited to have him as part of the team.

“He brings a unique blend of advisory and regulatory experience, which clients will find hugely beneficial, particularly as the challenging economic environment continues and the pressures from Brexit intensify.”
