Mr Young’s hard work has been recognised within the prestigious rankings that showcase the industry’s rising talent, and features professionals from across the UK who have made significant contributions to the field and their individual firms.

The news follows EQ’s double celebration in July where another two principal managers, Rachel Bell and Scott Greig were named in the 2019’s ICAS Top 100 Young CAs list.

Mr Young, originally from Kirriemuir, joined EQ as part of EQ’s school leaver programme in 2004 with no previous accountancy experience but has shown continued dedication and commitment to his professional development and to the firm. He gained his ACCA qualification in 2013, and quickly moved up the ranks to become Principal Manager in 2019.

He is a key member of the EQ Agriculture team where he has developed extensive knowledge and experience of the agricultural sector. Mr Young also heads up the firm’s private client tax team, dealing with complex tax matters affecting individuals including Inheritance Tax planning, Capital Gains Tax, Trust and Estate Taxation and Income Tax planning.

Mr Young said: “It’s a huge honour to have been named in this industry poll and great to receive recognition for all the hard work that has been put in. I’d also like to thank all my colleagues for the help and support they have provided throughout my career so far, and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

David Cameron, managing partner, added: “I am delighted that Robert has been recognised within the Accountancy Age ‘35 Under 35 2019’ rankings. Robert has always shown dedication to his ongoing development over the last 15 years and it has been fantastic to see his progression, embracing more responsibility to become a trusted leader within our profession.”
