Former ICAS president Alison Cornwell CA joins Scottish Ballet board

Chartered Accountant Alison Cornwell has been appointed to the board of Scottish Ballet, bringing invaluable financial and governance experience from an international career in media and entertainment.
Ms Cornwell began her career qualifying as a CA with PwC in Glasgow before spending five years in corporate finance in London. She subsequently held a series of high-profile chief financial officer (CFO) positions at major global organisations, including Disney’s international television division, Sparrowhawk Media Group, Alliance Films, and the cinema group Vue International.
She held the position of president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) for 2024/25, and was a council member since 2018. She was the fifth female president in the organisation’s 170-year history and also served as a trustee of the ICAS Foundation.
Further highlighting her expertise in financial governance, Ms Cornwell is a former governor and audit committee chair of the British Film Institute. Her distinguished background in finance and strategic leadership will be a significant asset to the Scottish Ballet board.
