An ensemble of international investors are set to share their insights on how Scottish companies can maximise their scale-up ambitions at this week’s Invest2Scale gathering in Edinburgh.

The group includes US-based investors Rose Vitale, the founder of FundHER World Capital; Aman Verjee, general partner at the Silicon Valley firm Practical Venture Capital; and climate policy expert Jane Ge, managing partner of Vectors Capital.

Also joining them is Tibor Luka, the CEO and founder of Geneva-based Bluecap Ltd.

Billed as “View from Across the Pond and Beyond”, the guests will take part in a panel session which will feature their shared experiences as well as insights and strategies into the world of venture capital investment. The panellists will also discuss trends within the current global investor landscape and provide an overview of their approach with scale-up businesses, including those in Scotland, as they embark on a growth journey.

The four individuals will attend the Invest2Scale gathering while taking part in a week-long visit across Scotland with other global investors as part of the International Scottish Investment Delegation 2023. This mission brings together a cohort of mainly US-based investors to Scotland in a collaboration between Scottish Development International (SDI), the Scottish Government, Techscaler and Sustainable Alpha.

Invest2Scale is an in-person business event aimed at supporting the best revenue-generating scale-up companies in Scotland. Once again, a selected group of company founders will be invited to participate in the summit which is being held on 31 October at Edinburgh’s Virgin Hotel.

Launched in 2022, Invest2Scale helps scalable Scottish companies which are ready for high-level growth by providing them with direct access to investors and VCs. The event is led by law firm MBM Commercial, accountants and advisers CT, recruitment specialists Eden Scott, and Angel Capital Scotland (formerly LINC Scotland).

Alan Donald from Angel Capital Scotland, one of Invest2Scale’s founder organisations, said: “Securing these leading figures from the global investor community is a huge coup which will add further value to this year’s event.

“We are grateful to SDI for its support in helping us access these highly accomplished individuals. We look forward to hearing their views and insights and relating these to the aspirations of Scotland’s scale-up businesses.”
