Henderson Loggie has appointed Grant Snedden to lead its games and digital sector team.

Recent data from Scottish Games Network indicates that Scotland is home to 484 game studios, alongside numerous tech and games-adjacent companies. Nationally, the UK gaming market was valued at £7.63 billion in 2024, with consumer spending reaching £7.6bn, reflecting the sector’s resilience and economic significance.

The accountancy firm, which is recognised as the market leader in Scotland’s games sector, sees the appointment as part of a strategic push. Henderson Loggie has advised a number of well-known studios on financial strategy and tax incentives, where development timelines can stretch over several years before generating revenue, and where early-stage capital constraints are common. Video Games Tax Relief can significantly improve cash flow for developers investing heavily in new IP.

Mr Snedden, who has had a pivotal role with games clients since joining the sector group in 2018, said: “The video games sector in Scotland has had a real impact both economically and culturally, and we want to see it continue to grow.

“We work closely with game studios to help them navigate tax reliefs, funding and provide practical support for the day-to-day challenges of running a business. I’m excited to build on our track record and help clients navigate the financial challenges of long development cycles and scaling globally.”

Kimberley Thomson, head of tax at Henderson Loggie, said: “Grant is already well known in the sector and is the right person for this job. He brings the right mix of sector insight and practical advice to the role and understands the nuances of the sector and the commercial realities studios face.

“He has developed strong relationships across the industry and his leadership ensures continuity for our clients, and reinforcing our commitment to the sector.”

Henderson Loggie plans to expand its footprint in the UK games industry, positioning itself as a key financial adviser to developers navigating complex production cycles, tax regimes, and growth funding challenges.
