Grant Thornton strengthens innovation tax team with new hire in Scotland

Grant Thornton has strengthened its specialist tax team in Scotland with a new senior manager hire.

Douglas Reid has joined the global business and financial adviser to lead its Innovation Group in Scotland.

Mr Reid has more than 17 years’ experience working with and advising businesses on their tax affairs, most recently spending 9 years specialising in government R&D tax incentives and patent box claims across both the UK and Australia.

Grant Thornton said the appointment is part of a long-term growth strategy in Scotland, which has resulted in a number of senior hires in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow over the last twelve months.
