One of north east Scotland’s most well-established independent financial advisory firms has shown its commitment to expansion with the appointment of two new directors.

J M Taylor Financial Services announced this week that Kelly Creighton and Scott Middleton are to join the company’s new management team, which is also being further strengthened by the return of senior chartered financial planner John Waddell.

J M Taylor director Gail Crighton welcomed the new appointments and stated that the aim of the firm is to target sustained future growth for the business.

She said: “J M Taylor are dedicated to the provision of top quality, independent financial planning for our clients and to do this we must constantly look to improve and develop our core service propositions. By appointing Kelly, Scott and John to the management team, we are ensuring that we are able achieve this goal whilst also targeting long-term growth for the firm.”

Ms Creighton has worked for J M Taylor for over eighteen years and rose from a junior administrator to office manager before her appointment to director.

Fellow board member Alex Benson said: “Kelly is an integral part of our firm. Her new role is a reflection of the high regard in which she is held and how vital she will be in the ongoing evolution of the firm.”

Scott Middleton, meanwhile, is a chartered financial planner who has been with the firm for six years during which time he has helped “stimulate the growth of the firm and developing the client service offerings”.

Mr Alex Benson said Middleton’s appointment as director was “reward for the progress Scott has made in his time with us and the huge part he has to play in shaping the firm’s future.”

The appointment of John Waddell, who the company describe as “one of the most qualified and experienced financial planners in the North East”, sees him return to the firm a year after leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Mr Waddell said that his new, wider-reaching role will allow him to “utilise my experience to help create a modern, more client focused, financial advisory firm. Something that is unfortunately, in short supply in Aberdeen.”

This was echoed by his new boardroom colleague, Alex Benson, who added: “John’s return is something that the entire firm is delighted about. His drive and passion for excellence are second to none and are in step with our plans for the firm.”
