Johnston Carmichael appoints tech risk expert Stephen Harrison

Johnston Carmichael has expanded its leadership team with the addition of technology risk and assurance expert Stephen Harrison, as part of the firm’s growth strategy.

Mr Harrison, who brings over 22 years of experience, will work across the company’s 14 UK offices. He will be a key member of the audit team and collaborate closely with firm’s consulting specialists as the firm broadens its risk advisory and assurance services

Mr Harrison began his career at a Big Four firm before moving into banking where he was a technology leader responsible for group-wide controls assurance and regulatory compliance. He returned to accountancy to become a Big Four regional head of information risk management, leading a large UK-wide team of IT risk and audit specialists, before joining Johnston Carmichael.



His new role will involve assisting clients in addressing their technology risk, improving internal controls, and covering areas such as SOC reporting, third-party risk management, control remediation, operational resilience, and technology process improvement. His expertise in technology risk management is expected to enhance Johnston Carmichael’s audit practice and support the firm’s growth in risk and resilience services throughout the UK and beyond.
