Johnston Carmichael promotes new partners and directors in Glasgow office

Johnston Carmichael has strengthened its leadership team with four senior promotions in Glasgow.
Two new partners and two new directors will now be based in the Glasgow office, with a further four directors promoted across the firm’s wider network.
Thuy Vo has been promoted to audit partner within the financial services audit team, Gavin Weanie becomes corporate finance partner, while Dean Moore and Sarah Bedford have both been promoted to director in audit and restructuring respectively. These appointments form part of the firm’s ongoing investment in developing future leaders and supporting long-term growth ahead of its 90th anniversary next year.
Johnston Carmichael’s Glasgow office continues to be a major success story for the firm, with the team key to Johnston Carmichael’s wider UK growth ambitions. The Glasgow office is the second largest in the firm’s network, with a total of 200 people.

Ms Vo brings over two decades of experience in investment management, specialising in alternative investment funds primarily invested in real estate, private equity and infrastructure. She has led audits for public interest entities and works with a diverse portfolio of private equity funds, venture capital trusts and asset managers. Combining technical expertise with commercial insight, she supports clients with audit requirements and risk management while ensuring compliance with professional standards.
Mr Weanie specialises in lead advisory and due diligence services across a range of industry sectors, with over ten years’ M&A experience. He joined Johnston Carmichael in 2019, following seven years at a Big Four firm, and has led a variety of high profile transactions involving owner-managed businesses, private equity and corporates. An established and trusted adviser to clients, he is recognised for his collaborative approach, technical skill and commitment to delivering successful outcomes.
Their promotions are among 88 across the firm this December, bringing the total to 181 this year.
