Kilmac reaches £32.9m in sales

Dundee civil engineering firm Kilmac has posted another year of double-digit revenue growth, taking annual turnover to almost £33 million despite what it describes as a challenging construction market.

Newly filed accounts show Kilmac increased revenue by 10% to £32.9m in the year to September 30, 2025, up from £29.9m the previous year. Pre-tax profit eased to £2.3m from £2.5m.

The latest figures continue a sustained period of growth for the employee-owned business. Since transferring ownership to its workforce in 2022, turnover has risen each year, climbing from £25.6m in 2022 to £26.6m in 2023, £29.9m in 2024 and now £32.9m.

The company has also expanded its workforce, increasing employee numbers from 130 when it became employee-owned to 170, The Courier reports.

Finance director Julie Scobie said the business had continued to grow revenue, maintain healthy profit margins and strengthen its balance sheet while investing in its workforce.

She said seven new contracts completed during the year generated more than £5m of revenue and that the company remains focused on achieving sustainable annual growth of between 10% and 12%.

During the year, Kilmac completed 15 projects and had a further 12 under way at the year end, including developments at Monifieth High School, Perth High School and the R&A in St Andrews, alongside the Alloa Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School.

Ms Scobie said the company entered the new financial year with a strong pipeline of work and would continue investing in its people, technology and capabilities.
