Kinross Golf Courses tees up £800,000 transformation

Kinross Golf Courses has unveiled an investment programme exceeding £800,000, signalling a significant strategic shift for the central Perthshire’s golfing destination.
The largest single allocation within the programme is £600,000 directed at state-of-the-art greens machinery, designed to deliver consistently premium playing conditions across both 18-hole courses. A fleet of 20 new-generation EZGO buggies fitted with GPS navigation screens is due to arrive this month, whilst new signage across the courses and entrance completes the on-course upgrade.
A sensitive bunkering restoration programme across both the Montgomery and Bruce Courses forms another cornerstone of the investment, returning features closer to their original architectural intent. A new driving range is also under construction, with completion scheduled for the end of 2026.
Dean Charalambous, director at Artemis Hotels Management, said: “This significant investment demonstrates the team’s commitment to preserving the heritage of Kinross Golf Courses while delivering a premium experience for every golfer who visits.”
Commercially, the investment reflects a deliberate repositioning. Kinross, historically regarded as an accessible and affordable venue, is now aligning its pricing structure to reflect the elevated quality of its offering, whilst aiming to retain broad appeal. The development also strengthens its “stay and play” proposition in partnership with the adjacent Green Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals.
The programme is further accompanied by a brand refresh incorporating the Montgomery family crest, honouring course designer Sir David Montgomery, who remains actively involved in overseeing the estate.
