Leonard Curtis appointed provisional liquidator at Glasgow engineering company

Stuart Robb

Stuart Robb of Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery Limited has been appointed provisional liquidator of Walker MacLeod.

The company, which operates from premises in Yoker, Glasgow, was incorporated in June 1981 and operates as a multi-disciplined engineering firm supplying metal fabrications and electrical installation services to industrial and commercial enterprises.

Management have taken the difficult decision to appoint a provisional liquidator having recently experienced a downturn in trading.

Due to significant supplier pressure and high fixed operating costs, the company has now ceased trading and the Provisional Liquidator will take steps to wind down the Company’s operations. As a result, the firm’s 46 employees have been made redundant.

Mr Robb said: “Having assessed the financial position, we have taken the difficult decision to cease trading with immediate effect. Our efforts will now be focussed on providing the affected employees with the appropriate support whilst seeking to maximise realisations for the benefit of the Company’s creditors.

He continued: “There remains an opportunity to acquire the Company’s assets and we would encourage any interested parties to contact Jenna Cooper by email, as a matter of urgency, at jenna.cooper@leonardcurtis.co.uk with a note of their interest.”

Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery is part of the Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group.
