McLaren Packaging returns as founding sponsor of second edition of The Distillers One of One charity auction

Port Glasgow-based McLaren Packaging, a specialist supplier to the Scotch Whisky industry, is returning as a founding sponsor of the second edition of The Distillers One of One charity auction at Hopetoun House on the outskirts of Edinburgh next month.

Set to take place on 5 October 2023, The Distillers One of One is a biennial series of auctions of Scottish whisky in aid of disadvantaged young people in Scotland.

Led by The Distiller’s Charity, the philanthropic arm of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, and in partnership with Sotheby’s, it sees the Scotch Whisky industry come together to support charitable causes. Participating distilleries are donating ultra-rare whisky and experiences for sale at auction.

Proceeds from The Distillers One of One auction will benefit the Youth Action Fund, which has been created by The Distillers’ Charity to transform the life chances of 16 to 25-year-old people in Scotland, empowering them to create positive change in their lives and communities.

Michael McLaren, director of McLaren Packaging, said: “As a wholly independent Scottish manufacturer providing high quality products to a global Scotch Whisky industry demanding increasingly elaborate and bespoke sustainable packaging, we are delighted to once again lend our support to this exciting philanthropic venture.

“We consider our ongoing involvement with The Distillers One of One charity auction as a reinforcement of our commitment to deliver a sustainable business with a positive impact on the communities within which we operate.”

Jonathan Driver, immediate past master of The Worshipful Company of Distillers, added: “We are delighted to welcome the return of McLaren Packaging as a sponsor of The Distillers One of One charity auction in a partnership that we are delighted continues to benefit a range of charitable causes.”
