Monarch Financial Services has become the founding sponsor of Ayrshire Cancer Support’s soon to be refurbished cancer support centre, raising £10,000 as of this month.
When planning permission was approved for the building - located on Prestwick Road in Ayr - back in 2021, the charity released several exciting and meaningful opportunities for both individuals and businesses to become founders to help raise or donate funds for a specific space within the new centre, with the knowledge that their chosen space will support thousands of people for years to come.
Monarch pledged to become founding sponsor of the Cancer Support Specialist Room within the building and through a variety of fundraising activities and donations, reached their target of £10,000 in January.
Craig Blackwood, director of care services, Ayrshire Cancer Support, said: “This generous donation will provide an invaluable space for our Cancer Information and Support Specialist to have supportive and confidential conversations with people that access our services for support. Cancer Information and Support Specialists utilise their background in working clinically to assess someone’s needs holistically, and truly focus on what matters most to that person.
“By doing this, they can develop a plan of action to help meet these needs utilising our services, or those available through other local and national organisations. I want to extend a massive thank you to Monarch Financial Services for their support.”
Iain Greer, director of Monarch Financial Services, added: “It has been a pleasure to be involved with Ayrshire Cancer Support and to help support this new building which will provide fantastic support services to those affected by cancer. This is a cause that is close to our hearts as a business and we worked together as a team to fundraise over the year. We hope this centre can support those dealing with cancer over the years to come.”
