In her new role, she will be responsible for building communications strategies to align with SFEYP’s vision and values. Key to efforts will be collaboration with SFE to meet joint objectives that will further Scotland’s industry standing.

Amy Paterson, chair of SFEYP, commented: “We are excited to introduce new voices and expertise to SFEYP to help take its impact to the next level, ensuring that the leadership of tomorrow is set up for success in our industry.

“We firmly believe that greater access to networking, training and progression opportunities for young professionals is imperative to making the financial services industry more inclusive and reflective of what is needed today.

“SFEYP Committee members’ expertise is crucial to delivering our messages effectively and we are excited to embark on the next steps in the journey, with Cheri and her new colleagues on board.”

Ms Burns said: “I am thrilled to have been selected to be part of such a forward-thinking, important group, and cannot wait to use my expertise to contribute to campaigns that help to amplify the roles and voices of the young professionals driving our industry forward. I look forward to building on already great work that also promotes the benefits that a thriving and purposeful financial services sector can bring to customers, colleagues and communities across the UK.”

Magalie Pimentel, VP of marketing at Encompass Corporation, added: “Cheri’s extensive and varied background in media, combined with her passion and deep understanding of the RegTech landscape, makes her an excellent addition to the SFEYP team.

“I know she will be an excellent ambassador for the organisation’s values and Encompass, as an enthusiastic member of SFE, is looking forward to continuing to contribute to the growth of Scotland’s industry landscape.”
