Livingston Designer Outlet has marked a successful 2025 with strong retailer investment for key categories, increased footfall and dwell time within the outlet.

The brand investment and new openings in H2 of 2025, showed particular successes in the run up to the festive period, with the outlet marking its strongest November on record since opening 25 years ago. Sales in November grew by 7.5% YoY for the period, whilst Black Friday saw an 8.5% uplift in footfall and 13.3% increase in sales YoY.

The post-Christmas period from 26-31 December was another successful period for the outlet, with YoY increases to both sales and footfall by 8% and 3.2% respectively.

New store openings continue to demonstrate strong confidence in the outlet model in Scotland from leading national and international brands. In 2025 alone, Livingston Designer Outlet welcomed a wave of new arrivals including Monsoon, Belstaff and Crocs, alongside Columbia, further strengthening its outdoor offering alongside The North Face, Adidas, New Balance and Castore. These openings in Q4 resulted in the outlet having its most successful Q4 on record, demonstrated by a 1.3% growth in sales YoY.

Throughout the year, footfall was further boosted due to a high-quality events and experiences programme, from the thrilling dinosaur exhibition to the elevated Christmas offering, the outlet became a must visit destination in key moments of the year.

Closing this January, the centre delivered a strong finish, with sales up +10.4%, fully recovering the weather-impacted start to last year. Importantly, January also outperformed 2024, with sales up +3.6, confirming January 2026 as the strongest January on record at Livingston Designer Outlet.

Nicky Lovell, head of outlets and business development at Global Mutual, said: “2025 has been a fantastic year for Livingston Designer Outlet. From major brand openings and expansions to our events bringing the centre to life, we’ve seen record levels of shoppers in key times of the year.”

Looking ahead, Livingston Designer Outlet is set for further transformation in 2026 with a particular emphasis on bringing more leisure and dining options to the outlet. In H1 2026, Livingston Designer Outlet will bring a brand-new immersive leisure experience in Flip Out to West Lothian, alongside popular F&B brands like Sides and an independent dining option in Hamilton & Brown.

Ms Lovell continued: “In 2026, Livingston Designer Outlet is set to grow from strength to strength by transforming from a destination largely known to its retail offering, to a full-day destination.

“This will allow our guests to not only shop for their favourite brands at unbeatable prices but also spend time experiencing our leisure and dining options.”
