Nichols steps up into newly-created role
John McCareins says new role will be key to ongoing growth.
Aberdeen Investments has appointed Becky Nichols as Head of Global & Alternative Consultant Partnerships, a new role designed to deepen relationships with the firm’s most strategically important global and alternative consultant firms.
Having joined the company 16 years ago, she has held a range of distribution, product and corporate leadership roles across the UK and US. Prior to joining the company, she worked as an investment consultant, bringing first-hand experience of the sector.
John McCareins, Chief Client Officer at Aberdeen Investments, said: “Becky brings a rare combination of consultant experience, commercial leadership and deep knowledge of Aberdeen.
“This new role underlines our commitment to the consultant community and strengthens our ability to work with our most important partners around the world as we continue to grow our business across institutional, wealth, insurance and private markets channels.”
Becky Nichols said: “Today’s consultant firms increasingly operate across regions and client segments, creating new opportunities for more strategic and globally coordinated partnerships.
“They are hugely important to our business and play a critical role in helping shape outcomes for clients. The strongest relationships are two-way: consultants bring tremendous insight into their clients and the challenges they are trying to solve, while we bring perspectives from across different client segments, markets and investment capabilities.
“As opportunities grow across wealth, insurance and alternatives, I’m excited about bringing that expertise together to develop solutions, deepen relationships across our businesses and build long-term partnerships that ultimately deliver better outcomes for clients.”
Separately, Aberdeen has formally confirmed Eric Bruce as Head of Global Financial Institutions. He has played a leading role in establishing the firm’s global GFI model and strengthening relationships with key strategic partners over the past year.
