Original Four Seasons founder backs Scottish tech firm with five-figure investment

A Scottish tech start-up whose disruptive software has been dubbed “the Facebook for care homes” has landed a five-figure investment from the original founder of Four Seasons Healthcare.

StoriiCare, whose innovative technology is transforming the way care homes interact with people with dementia, has secured the backing of Edinburgh-born serial entrepreneur Robert Kilgour, who has also been appointed as the company’s new Non-Executive Director.

Care home veteran Kilgour, who now owns Musselburgh-based Renaissance Care after making his financial exit from Four Seasons in 2005, is a seasoned investor and property developer, as well as Chief Executive of Edinburgh-headquartered Dow Investments.

He said: “I am delighted to be both investing in and joining Cameron and his excellent team - their energy and enthusiasm is infectious and I look forward to us working together and having an exciting and productive time ahead.”

StoriiCare founder and CEO Cameron Graham, who is a graduate of Strathclyde University and Cambridge Judge Business School’s Ignite Programme, has already won a string of accolades, including Santander’s Digital Pitching competition and Strathclyde University’s Rising Star award in 2015.

He has made it his mission to improve lives through memories after taking inspiration from fellow patients, some of whom had dementia, during a stint in hospital where he recovered from kidney failure brought on by running a marathon.

Cameron has in the past won the Young Scottish EDGE award and has recently been named as the first Scottish tech entrepreneur to land a fully funded place on We Are The Future’s 2017 Silicon Valley Accelerate Programme in San Francisco, following a successful pitch at the Edinburgh Startup Summit last year.
