Mr Ellis said: “I’m honoured to have been elected as Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC in the UK and Middle East. This is an exciting time for PwC and it is a privilege to lead our 20,000 people as we work together to take our firm from strength to strength.

“I will remain focused on delivering the best of PwC to our clients while continuing to invest in our people, skills and technology – all of which are key to our future success. Helping our clients respond to the opportunities of a digital age by giving them access to high quality teams and innovative services is vital.

“I also recognise the importance of PwC’s market leadership position and the responsibilities that brings, especially in respect of the wider contribution that we make to society. For example, our work on critical issues such as rebuilding public trust in business is extremely important to me.

“Ian Powell has led PwC through a very successful eight years and I’d like to thank him for all he has done in building such a strong firm.”

Commenting on the announcement of his successor, Ian Powell, Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC UK, commented:

“I’ve seen at first hand Kevin’s energy, enthusiasm and commitment to our clients and people. He has made a significant contribution to the leadership of the UK firm over the past eight years and brings the right qualities, experience and skills to lead the firm to continued success.

“At a time of rapid technological change and economic opportunity I am certain that Kevin will provide strong leadership.”
