Saffery has hired four new senior tax experts across its Edinburgh and Inverness offices to strengthen the firm’s expertise in corporate tax and professional partnerships.
Emma Siegel joins from Forvis Mazars as a corporate tax director in Edinburgh. She brings more than 10 years’ experience advising owner managed businesses and large corporate groups on UK corporation tax, including transactions, reorganisations and succession planning.
Joining from Henderson Loggie, Susan Pattison is a corporate tax senior manager in Edinburgh. She advises charities and cultural organisations on corporate tax and cultural tax reliefs, including Museums & Galleries and Theatre Tax Reliefs. She also advises on charitable trading, Gift Aid and tax-efficient structures, supporting organisations to maximise funding and reinvest in their activities.
Patricia Bell also joins as a tax senior manager in Edinburgh. She joins from Ashurst LLP, having spent seven years working as part of the in-house tax team. She is a member of the personal tax team focusing on tax compliance for partnerships and their partners. She also specialises in tax reserving, high-net worth tax compliance, pension planning and providing capital gains tax advice.
Lois Tack joins as a corporate tax senior manager in Inverness. Most recently at Azets, she is specialised in advising on R&D tax relief and Patent Box tax relief. She also brings a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide range of corporate tax matters for clients ranging from smaller owner managed businesses through to larger corporate groups.
Sean McGinness, head of Saffery’s Edinburgh office and national tax partner, said: “Businesses and partnerships across Scotland are navigating one of the most complex tax environments in recent years. From evolving corporate tax legislation and reliefs to increasing compliance requirements and greater scrutiny from HMRC, organisations need clear, practical advice to help them respond with confidence.
“Emma, Susan, Patricia and Lois each bring highly valuable expertise that strengthens our ability to support clients through this changing landscape. Their appointments enhance the breadth and depth of our tax offering, which now includes 33 specialists across corporate tax, VAT, tax technology, partnerships and employment tax.”
