Savills has appointed Mhairi Archibald, one of Scotland’s most respected commercial auctioneers, as associate director within its UK auctions division.

With over 25 years of experience, Ms Archibald brings deep expertise in commercial property sales, having held senior roles at JLL and Acuitus. She is based between Edinburgh and London and is spearheading the expansion of Savills auction services across Scotland and other regional markets.

Her appointment comes during a period of exceptional growth for Savills auctions. The division has already generated £577 million in sales this year, including over £210m in commercial transactions, a 124% increase compared to the same period last year.

In her first month, she has delivered immediate impact, securing eight diverse new commercial instructions north of the border, spanning retail, hospitality, mixed-use and development properties. These assets reflect the strength of the Scottish market and the growing demand for fast, transparent sales via auction.

The new instructions span key Scottish locations and asset types, underscoring the breadth of demand and opportunity. All seven lots will feature in Savills’ two-day auction event this week.

Ms Archibald said: “I’m thrilled to hit the ground running and bring fresh momentum to Savills auction offering across Scotland.

“These early instructions reflect the strength and appetite of the commercial auction market as well as the demand for transparent, fast-paced sales. From retail assets with robust covenants to mixed-use opportunities and former school sites, auctions continue to deliver a diverse and dynamic platform for sellers and buyers alike.”
