North-east accountancy firm SBP Accountants & Business Advisers is celebrating after Sophie Daniel won the Rising Star accolade at the 2026 Finance & Accountancy Business (FAB) Awards.
Held at Union Kirk on 21 May, the awards recognise professional achievement across the finance, accountancy, and tax sectors in north-east Scotland. The Rising Star category specifically honours emerging talent demonstrating outstanding progress, dedication, and leadership potential.
With more than 12 years of experience, Ms Daniel has built a strong reputation in tax planning, financial reporting and business advisory services. Since joining SBP with no prior accounting experience, she has progressed through the firm to achieve Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant status in 2024.
She has played a key role in driving innovation across the business, including leading the transition to cloud-based accounting systems, while also mentoring colleagues and supporting staff development across SBP’s four offices.
John Hannah of SBP Accountants said: “We are incredibly proud of Sophie and this thoroughly deserved recognition. Sophie embodies everything this award represents.
“Her journey within SBP has been exceptional, and she continues to make a significant impact across the firm. This award is a reflection of her hard work, commitment and the high standards she consistently delivers.”
Ms Daniel said: “I’m honoured to receive the Rising Star award. I’m fortunate to work with such supportive colleagues and clients at SBP, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given throughout my career. I look forward to continuing to support our clients and contribute to the future growth of the firm.”
