Scotland to host Global Investment Summit with Bank of England Governor

A host of high-profile figures from across business, academia and government will participate in Scotland’s Global Investment Summit next month, in one of the most significant gatherings of its type ever to take place in Scotland.
The landmark summit, hosted by Scottish Financial Enterprise and the Lord Mayor of London, will bring together global investors, policy makers and leaders from three of the nation’s growth sectors; financial services, renewable and life sciences, with the goal of showcasing the opportunities that exist and connecting investors with those opportunities.
Following a reception and gala dinner on the 6 October – where Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey will deliver the keynote address – the summit itself will take place on the 7 October at NatWest Gogarburn, with speakers from across life sciences, renewable energy and financial services providing investors a window into the innovative opportunities across Scotland.

The Lord Mayor of London, Alastair King DL, said: “Scotland has a rich history of innovation and global leadership. It has shaped the global financial system, providing significant advances in life sciences and renewable technology – and our goal is to make sure international investors are now aware of our future opportunities too.
“Scotland today stands at the forefront of the global net zero transition, is a leader in health tech and research, and has a thriving financial and professional services industry. The Scotland’s Global Investment Summit will provide investors with a unique insight and direct connections to the opportunities that can be found in our key sectors. Having attendees of the calibre of the Governor of the Bank of England shows the magnitude of the summit.”
