ACCA’s (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Professional Diploma in Sustainability (ProDipSust) has been formally credit rated on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 10 with 20 credits (representing 200 learning hours).
SCQF Level 10 – part of an internationally agreed educational benchmark – is the standard of a UK Bachelor’s (Honours) Degree. This external accreditation reflects the quality, academic rigour, and professional relevance of the learning, equipping finance professionals globally with the expertise needed to stay ahead and become true sustainability leaders.
This expertise is in great demand. ACCA’s recent talent trends survey found that environmental impact featured as a key career motivator, with 51% saying they want to pursue sustainability-related roles within accountancy and finance. The diploma offers a structured learning and assessment programme, directly responding to this growing demand from both employers and individuals for careers in sustainability, as well as the need to comply with emerging global regulatory requirements.
Abdul Goffar, director – UK at ACCA, said: “We’re pleased to have had our sustainability diploma credit rated at SCQF Level 10.
“Sustainability is rapidly becoming one of the most powerful drivers of business strategy, regulatory compliance, and investment decision-making. As the regulatory environment becomes more complex, businesses require financial professionals who can lead the sustainability agenda.
“The SCQF Level 10 recognition underscores the quality of this programme and our commitment to ensuring the accountancy profession is ready to step up and lead the transition to a sustainable global economy.”
The ProDipSust exam is delivered as an integrated case study, testing learners’ ability to apply their knowledge to realistic, complex scenarios – an approach that ensures professionals can respond effectively to the challenges they will face in practice.
