Scottish branches among new tranche of NatWest UK bank closures

NatWest has announced the shutting of a further 43 locations across the UK including five of the group’s Scottish branches as more banking transactions move online.

Branches will be closing down between January and March next year. All five Scottish locations will be closing down in January.

The locations closing in Scotland are:

  • 262 Union Street, Aberdeen - 18 January 2023
  • 19 Miller Road, Ayr - 12 January 2023
  • 1 Courthouse Square, Dundee - 10 January 2023
  • 109 George Street, Edinburgh - 24 January 2023
  • 14 Blythswood Square, Glasgow - 26 January 2023

The Edinburgh George Street branch was closed by RBS, but was reopened as a NatWest branch in January 2020.

Despite NatWest having its headquarters in Edinburgh the group will have no remaining branches in Scotland once the closure goes through.
