Scottish entrepreneur unveils global wealth and power platform for women at Westminster

Veenoo Sharma

Scottish entrepreneur and investor Veenoo Sharma has unveiled The Power Diaspora Forum (TPDF), a new global platform designed to give women greater access to capital, influence and decision-making power, at the Houses of Parliament earlier this month.

The unveiling took place as part of the UK Forum on Cultural Diplomacy, in partnership with the WOW Alliance, across both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The gathering brought together former European Prime Ministers, Members of Parliament, Lords and Baronesses, senior policymakers, diplomats, academics and global leaders for high-level dialogue on leadership, power and global responsibility.

Speaking alongside senior political figures, Ms Sharma set out her vision for The Power Diaspora Forum as a long-term, multi-faceted global wealth platform designed to operate at the intersection of capital, leadership and policy. The Forum is structured to plug critical gaps that continue to limit women’s economic advancement – including access to capital, elite networks, global markets, strategic mentorship and decision-making rooms where power is shaped.

“Women operate at the centre of economies, institutions and global systems,” Ms Sharma said. “The Power Diaspora Forum is designed to ensure women are not only present in those systems, but structurally positioned to influence outcomes – economically, politically and culturally.”

The platform brings together three core pillars: capital deployment and investment access; curated mentorship and leadership pathways; and a global think-tank focused on policy, power and long-term economic stability. Through these pillars, TPDF connects women founders, investors and leaders directly with global markets, institutional capital, policymakers and cross-border opportunities.

Ms Sharma emphasised that access, not ability, remains the defining constraint for women at senior levels.

“You can be the strongest leader in business, but without access you cannot progress,” she said. “Real power is structural, economic and strategic. When women collaborate across borders and markets, capital moves differently, institutions evolve, and future generations benefit.”

The unveiling was supported by former MP and Head of the UK Forum and Women of the World Alliance, Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh OBE, who said:“True collaboration begins with how we bring women together and who we choose to include at the table.

“Veenoo Sharma embodies that principle and I was delighted to hear her powerful words and plans for The Power Diaspora Forum. I look forward to continuing our work together.”

Following its Westminster unveiling, The Power Diaspora Forum will now begin rolling out an international programme of strategic partnerships, leadership forums, capital initiatives and thought-leadership programmes, positioning women as central actors in global markets, economic growth and policy formation across the UK and internationally.
