Scottish Friendly launches new community hub highlighting support for young people across Scotland
Scottish Friendly has launched a new community hub on its website, bringing together the organisation’s work with partners who share its commitment to helping young people build confidence, develop key skills and access meaningful support.
At the heart of the hub is Scottish Friendly’s belief in building brighter futures, not just through its financial products, but through community investment and partnerships that make a real difference to children and young people. The hub showcases the organisation’s collaboration with Action for Children, Developing the Young Workforce, and Just Finance Foundation.
Since 2023, Scottish Friendly has supported Action for Children’s Wellbeing Programme, which helps young people build tools to support their mental health and emotional resilience. Funding has enabled the recruitment of two part‑time Wellbeing Practitioners working directly with pupils in local secondary schools.
Through its work with Developing the Young Workforce, modern apprentices from schools across Glasgow are welcomed into the business to gain hands‑on experience in the financial services sector. Apprentices work with colleagues across diverse roles, benefitting from training, mentorship and clear pathways to future careers.
Scottish Friendly has further expanded its support for young people through a new partnership with Just Finance Foundation. This collaboration helps deliver teacher‑led financial education to primary schools across Scotland. The programme equips teachers with the tools and resources they need to help children build essential money skills, boost financial confidence and develop healthy financial habits from an early age.
Jill Mackay, Head of Marketing and Customer Experience at Scottish Friendly, said: “By working with trusted partners who share our passion for supporting young people, we’re helping deliver meaningful programmes across wellbeing, employability and financial education.
“We’re incredibly proud of the impact these partnerships are having in schools and our local communities, and we look forward to building on this work in the year ahead.”
The new community hub, which can be accessed here, will serve as a central place to showcase updates, stories and the positive impact of Scottish Friendly’s partnerships.
