A new “impartial mortgage advice and lending service” aimed at helping home-buyers from start to finish has been launched in Edinburgh.

Exchange Mortgages is a “strategic partner” of financial planning firm Cornerstone Asset Management, which was formed in 2011 by Jason Hemmings, Alan Reid and Laurie Dempster.

It aims to offer “expert, tailored and impartial advice” to those looking at buy-to-let properties, first-time buyers and people moving up the property ladder.

Exchange Mortgages, which is part of the Mortgage Advice Bureau network, will offer access to specialist advice, alongside more than 90 lenders and 11,000 mortgage products.

Clients can also benefit from access to services such as wealth management and financial planning – through Cornerstone Asset Management – and advice on family, home and income protection.

Paul Allan, mortgage and protection adviser for Exchange Mortgages, said: “The mortgage process can be daunting and complex and our Exchange Mortgage business can benefit from an independent tailored and personal service assessing over 11,000 mortgage offers from over 90 UK lenders to find the right deal for our clients.

“We believe in building long-term relationships with our clients to ensure they are kept informed of any developments and are delighted to be able to deliver exclusive mortgage advice for Cornerstone’s existing clients and potential to ensure that their mortgage product continues to remain competitive and cost effective.”
