Superscript eyes Scotland in next phase of growth
Chris Barclay – CEO of Superscript
Insurance broker Superscript has announced a significant expansion into Scotland, with plans to open a regional hub in Glasgow as part of its next phase of growth.
The move forms a central part of the company’s strategy to build what it describes as the UK’s most progressive SME insurance distribution business. The Glasgow hub is expected to create new career opportunities whilst strengthening Superscript’s regional capability and enhancing service delivery for small and medium-sized enterprises across the country, both online and in person.
The announcement comes off the back of a strong twelve months for the business. Superscript has recorded significant double-digit revenue growth, increased gross written premium, and expanded its national distribution footprint. The company also grew its partnership base by more than 25% and maintained high customer satisfaction scores throughout the period.
Alongside its Scottish expansion, Superscript has identified the gig economy as a core strategic pillar, following the launch of its first-of-its-kind e-bike rider insurance. With the sector forecast for rapid growth, the company is developing tailored insurance propositions for individuals and businesses operating within this evolving part of the UK workforce.
To support its broadened ambitions, Superscript has made a series of senior internal promotions. Tori Butler becomes managing director – SME, Stephen Taylor takes on the role of managing director – speciality, and Gail Kozlowski is appointed managing director – partner success.
Chief executive Chris Barclay said the company was not merely refining the traditional broker model, but reshaping it entirely, with ambitions to become the UK’s number one SME insurance distribution business.
