The drink is the only British liqueur to win gold at the awards this year.

The judges said that the beverage was “a shining example with great balance and poise.”

They said: “It displays real raspberry flavours and a subtle tartness that’s delicately balanced, with the sweetness of berry jam on a light and subtle finish.”

The Raspberry Liqueur is one of the distillery’s most popular products. Tayport Distillery added that it was “so exciting to be recognised against some really great liqueurs”.

Director Kecia McDougall said: “We are over the moon that our 1992 Raspberry Liqueur has been recognised again for such an outstanding award! To achieve 95 pts against some tough competition really is such an honour! However, we always say that we would not be able to achieve our delicious taste without Scottish raspberries so a huge thanks has to go to our Scottish farmers!”
