Time called on architecture practice Carson & Partners

Glasgow and London-based design studio Carson & Partners has decided to wind up the business following a series of setbacks.

Started in 2011 by Iain Carson, the practice operated in sectors including urban design, large-scale residential, office development, public buildings, healthcare, individual homes and landscape design.

Mr Carson revealed that the business was impacted by the liquidation of Structured House Group in 2023 as well as unpaid fees for various projects. The delayed planning consent for key projects also took its toll, notably a student housing project for Alumno on St George’s Road.

Grainger Corporate Rescue & Recovery (GCRR) has been appointed to assist in the progression of liquidation proceedings.

Founder and director Iain Carson told our sister publication Scottish Construction Now: “It is with great sadness that we take the decision to wind up Carson & Partners. It is a move that reflects the sign of the times in construction at the moment.

“We tried to ride the storm for as long as possible but there is only so much you can do.”
