UserTesting expands Scottish operation with new Edinburgh offices

The San Francisco-headquartered company is taking 13,862 sq ft of space in Exchange Crescent within the capital city’s Exchange District area to meet demand for its solution.

Founded in 2007 to help companies improve their customer experience, UserTesting opened its first office in Edinburgh in 2019 and the office in Exchange Crescent will be its new European headquarters. The Edinburgh expansion builds upon its existing global office operations in San Francisco, Atlanta and Singapore.

The move comes at a key time in the growth of the company which announced its IPO (Initial Public Offering) on the New York Stock Exchange in November of 2021.

Matt Zelen, COO of UserTesting, said: “Following an extensive search for office space in the Edinburgh market, we are excited to have selected the Exchange Crescent Conference Square location for the new EMEA home of UserTesting.

“Edinburgh is known as a leading European technology centre and we have been impressed with the highly skilled and qualified talent pool of professionals in the region. We look forward to moving into Exchange Crescent and continuing to grow our presence in Edinburgh.”

Stewart McMillan of letting agents Cushman & Wakefield, who acted on behalf of Dentsu who are sub-letting the accommodation at Exchange Crescent, said: “We are delighted UserTesting has chosen Exchange Crescent for the expansion of its Edinburgh operations at this exciting time for the business.

“This letting further highlights the appeal of Edinburgh city centre as a highly attractive location for dynamic tech businesses. The accommodation was taken with the benefit of high-quality fit-out in situ, an increasing trend we are observing as occupiers are attracted to the flexibility such opportunities offer.”

Duncan Parsons from Dentsu welcomed the new arrival. He said: “Exchange Crescent is a superb building in a fantastic central location. It’s great that UserTesting is showing its confidence in Edinburgh as a place to expand its impressive global operations.”

Angela Lowe of CBR advised UserTesting and added: “Exchange Crescent offered the flexibility and growth opportunities required and we are delighted to have advised such a dynamic business.”
