Digital product consultancy Waracle has secured a long-term agreement with People’s Partnership, provider of People’s Pension, in a multi-million-pound deal that will help create the next-generation digital experience for the not-for-profit organisation.
The agreement will see Dundee-headquartered Waracle expand its existing role with the organisation through until 2027, delivering digital consultancy services across consumer-facing apps, platforms, and IT systems. The partnership aims to increase engagement, improve transparency, and make it easier for savers to understand and manage their pensions.
With more than £35 billion in assets under management, People’s Pension is the UK’s largest commercial master trust. It doesn’t have shareholders and reinvests its profits into delivering better value and services for its more than seven million members.
Waracle, a UK-wide digital product consultancy with offices in London, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, brings extensive experience in the pensions vertical and the wider financial services sector. Waracle’s client base includes Lloyds Banking Group, Royal London, ScottishPower, Phoenix Group, Roche and Imperial College London.
Waracle was responsible for developing the provider’s existing mobile app and has earned a strong reputation for delivering secure, user-centric digital solutions. This new commercial agreement will support high-value tech jobs across central Scotland and London and strengthens Waracle’s position as a digital partner for the UK pensions sector.
Adam Grant-Jones, chief growth officer at Waracle, said: “We’re delighted to extend our work with People’s Partnership, a trusted organisation playing a vital role in helping millions of workers build a better retirement.
“Our mission is to make complex digital services simple, human, and accessible – and pensions are one of the most important financial journeys a person will take. This collaboration allows us to build technology that improves transparency, strengthens engagement, and delivers long-term value for savers.”
Nigel Rodgers, chief information officer of People’s Partnership, said: “Technology is central to how we serve our members – from the way they enrol in a pension, to how they view their savings, to how they feel supported in planning for their future.
“Waracle helped us deliver a new mobile app in under nine months, and their approach gave us confidence to scale up the relationship to deliver future enhancements. As a ‘for-member’ organisation, we’re committed to continually reinvesting in better digital experiences, and Waracle will play a key role in helping us deliver that roadmap.”
Waracle CEO David Tuck said: “We have ambitious growth plans for Waracle, grounded in a strong track record, long-term client relationships, and an amazing culture.
“This partnership demonstrates the value we bring to clients tackling critical digital transformation. We’re proud to support People’s Partnership as we believe that our two organisations share similar values and are oriented towards principled growth.”
The deal follows Waracle’s acquisition of Glasgow-based design and engineering agency Screenmedia, and the appointment of David Tuck (formerly of Kin + Carta) as CEO. Waracle is also backed by growth capital investor BGF as part of its strategy to establish itself as the UK’s premier digital product consultancy.
