Glasgow-based Wbg has expanded into Ireland with the opening of a new office in Dublin, targeting public sector audit work.

Located at 105-108 Lower Baggot Street in Dublin city centre, the office is serviced by a dedicated senior team with Graham Gillespie, partner and head of internal audit, and Peter Clark, internal audit director, responsible for this office and driving forward client growth from there.

Mr Gillespie said: “We regard our significant investment in this new Dublin office as a tremendous opportunity to expand our current UK-wide internal audit offering, to clients across Ireland for the first time.

“Our focus will be on providing specialist internal audit services to Ireland’s public sector, including social housing and education with a view to exploit what our market research reveals is an opportunity to meet a growing demand for these services throughout Ireland.”

The office opening was marked with an event held in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors Ireland at the start of Internal Audit Awareness Month, organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors to highlight the value of internal auditors in strengthening governance, risk management, and organisational transparency.

Environmental specialist Conor McGinley, a manager in Wbg’s internal audit team delivered a presentation on ESG at the event.

Wbg will be in attendance at the Internal Audit leaders’ dinner on Wednesday 6 May and will be exhibiting at the Institute of Internal Auditors Ireland annual conference on Thursday 7 May.
