The Royal Mint has rolled the dice on nostalgia, announcing a collectible 50p coin to celebrate nine decades of MONOPOLY. In partnership with the game's owner, Hasbro, this marks the first time a board game has been celebrated on an official UK coin.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has asked the Royal Mint to create a non-fungible token (NFT) as part of larger plans to convert the UK into a “global crypto assets hub”. NFTs are digital files that serve as a certificate of ownership of a digital asset such as images, video and audio.
