Quality assurance specialist 2i has announced the appointment of David Scott as Strategic Adviser.

Having retired from his executive role as chief enterprise technology officer at Aberdeen Group in April 2025, Scott brings over three decades of experience linking technology strategy to business outcomes within large-scale financial services organisations. He has also served as a non-executive director on the board of Phoenix Group and continues to hold non-executive positions including membership of Edinburgh Napier University’s Court.

“I’ve known 2i and its leadership team for over 20 years, and what they’re building now is genuinely differentiated,” said Mr Scott. “The combination of process intelligence, AI and automation they’re deploying, particularly around ERP implementations, is designed to deliver faster implementation and more scalable outcomes. That’s what excited me about this role: the opportunity to work with a company positioned to make a real impact.”

In his advisory capacity, Mr Scott will work with 2i’s senior leadership team to refine market positioning, strengthen messaging consistency across all client touchpoints and ensure the company’s AI-powered automation offerings address the business challenges facing senior decision-makers responsible for transformation, not just IT teams.

Dave Kelly, CEO of 2i, said: “We’re at an exciting point in our growth journey and David’s appointment reflects our ongoing ambition.

“His experience operating at C-suite level in large financial services organisations gives us exactly the perspective we need as we scale – understanding how senior decision-makers evaluate technology investments and what they need to hear about business outcomes, not just technical capability.

“I’ve known David for many years and having someone of his calibre choose to work with us says a lot about the opportunity he sees in what we’re building.”
