The Artisanal Spirits Company, owner of whisky brands including The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS), has received recognition at top international spirits competitions in 2024.

SMWS alone secured a record-breaking six gold and one silver medal at the International Spirits Challenge, eight medals at the Scotch Whisky Masters, and further recognition at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the International Wine and Spirits Competition.

The company’s gold award-winning entries included Cask No. 36.220: From raisins to resins and Cask No. 42.85: A mug of mulled miso.

The company’s other brands also shone, with J.G. Thomson securing five medals at the Global Spirits Masters and the recently acquired Single Cask Nation (SCN) being named 2024 Independent Bottler of the Year by World of Whiskies. SCN also won accolades at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Las Vegas Spirits Awards.

Andrew Dane, CEO of The Artisanal Spirits Company, said: “To achieve accolades from such prestigious global competitions, judged by many of the most respected professionals in our industry, is no mean feat and I am delighted that the efforts of our team and the outstanding quality of our whiskies have been recognised so broadly.

“We are particularly proud that each of the brands in the portfolio have been recognised at these prestigious global awards. This is a testament to the core proposition of the Artisanal Spirits Company, which is to create and sell outstanding, limited-edition whisky & experiences around the world.

“I’d like to express my sincere thanks to our excellent team for their craftmanship and dedication in curating the most exciting whisky blends and tasting experiences for our whisky adventurers across the globe.”
