Azets has appointed Graham Parker as a new accounts and business advisory services director in the firm’s Perth office.

Mr Parker has 20 years’ experience advising a wide range of SME and entrepreneurial clients on their business, tax, growth and succession planning strategies. As a new director, he will play a key role driving the growth of the Perth office and broadening the range of services provided to clients across Perthshire and East Central Scotland.

He is also chairman of the ACCA Scotland Committee, represents Scotland on the ACCA International Assembly, is a director of Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce and a trustee of the Dundee Museum of Transport.

Mr Parker said: “I am delighted to have joined Azets and very much looking forward to helping clients navigate the increasingly complex regulatory, economic and tax environment.

“I am also looking forward to guiding clients on their digital transformation, streamlining processes and introducing new software solutions.

“Many SMEs are struggling with a ‘cost of business crisis’ exacerbated by an increase in employers’ national insurance whilst family businesses are particularly concerned about the new Inheritance Tax rules. Careful planning is more important than ever before, and we are keen to help as many local businesses as possible minimise their costs and maximise their performance.”

Ian Craig, partner and head of Azets Perth office, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Graham to the Perth office where he will play an important role broadening our accounts & business advisory services offering to businesses across Perthshire, Fife, Dundee and Angus.

“Owner managed businesses are facing significant challenges with recent tax changes and there is a marked increase in demand for our services.

“The team in Perth have an excellent proposition in the rural and healthcare markets and has seen strong growth in recent years. Graham is an extremely well connected and respected adviser locally and his appointment will allow us to build on our reputation for high quality client service.

“Along with significant investment and integration of our sister firm Azets Wealth Management, Graham is joining at a time where family businesses need to take a more holistic view of planning for the future and a combined offering under one roof will be of considerable benefit to our clients.”
