Deloitte overcomes 2025 slump to deliver expanded bonus pool for UK workforce

Deloitte’s UK workforce is poised for significant financial rewards this year as the Big Four firm projects earnings that will surpass its internal profit targets.

Chief Executive Richard Houston announced a 14% increase to the bonus pool, alongside average salary hikes of 4.2%, marking a notable rise from last year’s 2.9% increases.

Career advancement is also on the rise within the firm. Come June, at the start of the new financial year, Deloitte will promote 6,000 employees – a 28% increase in promotions compared to the previous year’s figures.

This financial turnaround follows a challenging period for the firm. In 2025, Deloitte reported its first revenue drop in over 15 years, a 1% decline triggered by a slowdown in its core consulting arm as clients paused major investments. The subsequent rebound in revenue has been heavily driven by widespread client adoption of artificial intelligence across deal-making, advisory services, and supply chain resilience.

According to Mr Houston, the anticipated surplus against the firm’s profit plan stems from improved pricing strategies and enhanced staff utilisation to maximise billable hours. Additionally, the bottom line has been bolstered by the strategic use of offshore “delivery centres” located in lower-cost regions.
