Pre-tax profits at Kirkcaldy-based food distributor Fife Creamery have surged by 57% to just over £2 million for the year ending 30 September 2025.

The dairy distributor, which has operated in the Kingdom of Fife since 1957, recorded a pre-tax profit of £2,004,913, up significantly from £1.2m the previous year. Turnover also increased by 2.1% to hit £46.4m, meaning the firm has more than doubled its income in the five years since September 2020.

This reporting period marked the first full year under managing director Steve Appolinari. Having joined the company in the 1980s, Mr Appolinari is the first person from outside the founding Simpson family to lead the business, taking over from Graeme Simpson to ensure continuity and growth.

The year also saw the company expand its operations through the acquisition of Lothian Catering Butchers Limited. Fife Creamery purchased 100% of the share capital for £166,235, a strategic move designed to bolster the firm’s butchery output, which was originally launched in 2021.

Despite the strong financial performance, Chairman Graeme Simpson sounded a note of caution regarding the external environment. In his strategic report, he identified “continuing economic uncertainty within the United Kingdom” as the main risk facing the company. However, he noted that the directors were pleased to report a “successful year” for the group.
