RSM UK has appointed Rosemary Ford as a partner in its consulting team in Edinburgh, specialising in forensic accounting investigations.

Ms Ford has over 16 years’ experience advising on complex and sensitive matters. Her expertise covers financial misconduct, accounting irregularities, suspected fraud and bribery, whistleblowing allegations, cash and asset tracing and contentious insolvencies.

She has led engagements across the UK and internationally, working with clients across industries such as financial services, oil and gas, retail and the public sector.

Prior to RSM, Ms Ford spent seven years in Deloitte’s Forensic and Financial Crime practice and has also held roles at the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Conduct Authority.

At RSM, Ms Ford will strengthen the firm’s forensic offering, expanding its existing investigations capability to support clients with investigations which have financial and accounting elements. She will work closely with clients to navigate the associated financial, regulatory and reputational risks and to prepare for and respond effectively to regulatory and other external enquiries.

Ms Ford said: “Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to roles where I can bring clarity to complex situations and advise clients during challenging situations.

“RSM’s collaborative culture and focus on pragmatic advice resonate strongly with me, particularly the firm’s use of data and technology to deliver insights efficiently and effectively.

“I enjoy helping clients understand the story behind the numbers and look forward to delving into a range of new projects at RSM.”

Ross Stupart, regional managing partner for RSM Scotland, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Rosemary to the Edinburgh team.

“Her established expertise across forensic accounting investigations will bolster our consulting capabilities in the region, further enhancing the support we can offer our clients and contributing to the continued growth of our forensic practice. We look forward to working with her as she settles into her new role.”
