Kyrgyz Ambassador meets Salmon Scotland chief to discuss trade ties

Ulan Djusupov and Mr Tavish Scott
Scotland and the Kyrgyz Republic are exploring opportunities for collaboration in aquaculture following a high-level meeting between the Kyrgyz Ambassador and the head of Salmon Scotland.
His Excellency Ulan Djusupov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UK, met with Tavish Scott, chief executive of Salmon Scotland, during a recent visit. Discussions centred on sharing expertise, best practices in sustainability, and potential pathways for future trade and investment between Scotland’s world-leading salmon industry and the Kyrgyz Republic’s rapidly developing food production sector.
Mr Scott outlined the strength of Scotland’s salmon exports, its reputation for quality, and the industry’s contribution to Scotland’s economy, while the Ambassador shared the Kyrgyz Republic’s ambitions to modernise and expand its own aquaculture and food production industries.
The discussions marked a positive step towards building stronger trade ties between Scotland and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ahsan Mustafa, lawyer at Aberdein Considine LLP and organiser of the meeting, told Scottish Financial News: “This meeting was a valuable opportunity to connect Scotland’s leading food export industry with the Kyrgyz Republic’s growing economy.
“By fostering dialogue between business leaders and policymakers, we are laying the foundations for meaningful future partnerships.”
