Mirabaud Asset Management appoints Giles Parkinson and Will Ballard

Mirabaud Asset Management has hired former Aviva Investors duo Giles Parkinson and Will Ballard to launch their new global equity strategy.
Mr Parkinson spent five years working as head of equities at Trinity Bridge before that, he worked alongside Mr Ballard at Aviva Investors, where he was a portfolio manager on the Global Equity Endurance fund for six years. He also held analyst and portfolio manager roles at Newton Investment Management and Artemis, respectively.
Mr Ballard spent 12 and a half years at Aviva Investors as head of emerging market and Asia Pacific Equities before he took on a role as head of equities at Border to Coast Pension Partnership for the past five years.
Mr Ballard also worked as an analyst with the Royal Bank of Canada and a fund manager on Janus Henderson’s Global Special Situations and Pan European Special Situations funds.
The duo will run a benchmark-aware global equity strategy focused on individual stock selection while avoiding unintentional sectoral, style or regional bias. It will seek high-quality companies with improving fundamentals and a sustainable competitive advantage. It will launch on October 1. The pair will report to Andrew Lake, chief investment officer at Mirabaud Asset Management.
