RSM promotes director in Edinburgh tax team

Liam Renton

RSM UK has promoted Liam Renton to employer solutions director in the firm’s tax faculty in Edinburgh.

Mr Renton joined RSM’s Edinburgh office in 2015 as tax associate. He specialises in tax valuations and implementing employee share incentive plans.

He is among 31 promotions to director across the national firm, with over half of this year’s cohort starting their careers with RSM as trainees. The promotions span all areas of the firm, with audit promoting 12 directors, seven in tax and 12 in consulting.

In addition, almost 700 promotions have been awarded across the firm into roles to help drive growth and investment in existing talent, including 66 in Scotland, as RSM aims to become a first-choice employer of skilled professionals, and a leading adviser to middle market firms globally.

Ross Stupart, RSM UK’s regional managing partner in Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “I’d like to congratulate Liam on reaching this important career milestone. His promotion to director is testament to his hard work, talent and technical expertise in share plans and reward, and it has been very rewarding to watch him grow and develop as a professional.

“At RSM, we’re committed to supporting our people and investing in their development, with almost 70 of our team in Scotland promoted this year. Providing an environment for local talent to grow and realise their potential remains a key focus, while also providing a premium service for our clients in the middle market.

“I look forward to seeing Liam and our newly promoted team members step into their new roles and help shape the future of our firm in Scotland and across the UK.”

Mr Renton added: “It’s a real honour to be promoted to director. In my 10 years with RSM, both me and the firm have evolved and grown exponentially. I’m excited to continue growing together as we support our clients with premium share plans and reward advice.”
