Stirlingshire-based James Jones & Sons Ltd has continued the expansion of its Australian pallet manufacturing division with the acquisition of two more companies, Newcastle Pallets and Seapal Pallets & Crates.
The deals, managed through its Australian subsidiary Hyne Timber Pty Ltd, bring the total number of the firm’s Australian acquisitions to ten since it entered the market in 2022.
Newcastle Pallets is located in one of Australia’s main population centres and manufacturing powerhouses of the country. Specifically, Newcastle represents the strong growth region of the NSW Hunter Valley and greater North Sydney area.
Seapal Pallets & Crates is located in Kilcoy, South-East Queensland and has an extensive network of customers across the mining, agriculture, logistics and food sectors. In addition to standard pallet manufacturing, the business delivers custom solutions to service the unique freighting requirements of large manufacturing businesses.
Tom Bruce-Jones, chairman of James Jones & Sons Ltd, said: “These latest acquisitions continue to deliver our strategy of vertical integration and geographical expansion across the continent. We are delighted to welcome Newcastle Pallets and Seapal Pallets & Crates into the wider James Jones & Sons Group.”
The acquisition of Newcastle Pallets completed on 1 September 2025, while Seapal Pallets & Crates will complete on 1 October 2025, subject to all completion precedents being met.
