Senior UK government figures get behind Scotland’s Global Investment Summit

Four senior UK government minister will be attending Scotland’s Global Investment Summit in Edinburgh this week, hosted by Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) and the Lord Mayor of London.
Darren Jones MP, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Scotland Office Minister Kirsty McNeill MP, Lucy Rigby MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, and Jason Stockwood, Minister for Investment, confirmed their attendance at this major event for the Scottish economy.
They will join other high-profile attendees – including the First Minster John Swinney and the Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey – at the landmark event, which is the first of its kind to be staged in Scotland and aims to attract significant international investment into Scotland’s economy.
The summit, which is taking place on October 6 and October 7, will bring together industry, global investors, government and regulators to showcase Scotland’s world-leading financial services, energy and life sciences sectors.

Other speakers at the summit include Stephen Dainton, of Barclays Investment Bank, Professor Juergen Maier CBE, chair of Great British Energy, Paul Thwaite, chief executive, NatWest Group and Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, chief scientist (health) for the Scottish Government.
