Seraphim Space to launch space tech ETF via HANetf following investment trust surge

Space pioneer Will Whitehorn

Seraphim Space is set to launch its own exchange-traded fund (ETF) dedicated to space technology.

The asset manager registered Seraphim New Space Ucits ETF with the Central Bank of Ireland last week, it has been reported. It will launch its ETF via white-label issuer HANetf.

Citywire reports the new fund will invest in publicly listed companies helping build the new space economy. It will include a stake in Seraphim Space Investment Trust (SSIT), where former Virgin Galactic president Will Whitehorn serves as a non-executive chair. He played a major role in helping the trust float on the stock exchange.

SSIT predominantly holds investments in private businesses, specifically small space tech start-ups. The fund was the third-best investment trust last year with a 120.5% share price return, which has continued in 2026 with a 49.9% gain year-to-date.

Driven by these strong returns, its share price premium rose to a high of 54%, prompting the firm to raise £137m via a C share issuance and begin trading on May 12 at a price of 100p per share via a placing, subscription and retail offer.
