Shona Campbell, business recovery partner and chair at Henderson Loggie, has been honoured with a Special Recognition Award at the Inspiring Volunteer Awards in Edinburgh.
She received the award from the Rt Hon Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh, Robert Aldridge, during a reception at the City Chambers on Tuesday 2 June.
Ms Campbell, who has served as treasurer of Firsthand Lothian since November 2016, was recognised for her long‑standing contribution to the charity, which supports disadvantaged children, young people with disabilities, isolated parents and carers across the city. Her financial leadership helped steer the organisation through the pressures of the Covid period, ensuring stability at a time when many families needed support more than ever.
Julie Carter, chief executive of Firsthand Lothian, said: “Shona has navigated the charity through Covid as well as ensuring financial prudence during challenging times.
“Her passion, effort and expertise have been so valuable over the years. I also wanted to thank Shona personally for the warm welcome she has given me. We are delighted that she has received this Special Recognition Award, which shines a light on the vital role trustees play in Edinburgh’s charities.”
The award also reflected Henderson Loggie’s wider commitment to leaving a positive legacy in the communities it serves. The firm encourages colleagues at all levels to take up volunteering and board roles, seeing them as a way to strengthen civic life while building professional insight and leadership skills.
Ms Campbell said: “It’s a privilege to support Firsthand Lothian and to work alongside people who are so dedicated to improving the lives of children and families across Edinburgh.
“The team at Firsthand are a fantastic group of people who genuinely care, and it’s been a pleasure to see the impact they have on the children and families they support. This recognition really belongs to them.
“At Henderson Loggie we believe in contributing to the communities we’re part of, and volunteering has always been an important way for me to do that. I’m honoured to receive this award.”
