New audit director among KPMG promotions in Aberdeen

Chris Brown

KPMG UK has announced a series of promotions in its Aberdeen office, with Chris Brown taking on the role of audit director.

Mr Brown will play a key role in supporting audit clients across the region, working closely with businesses operating in sectors including energy, infrastructure and the wider local economy.

KPMG has also promoted Chris Stout to audit senior manager, as well as Akosua Asomaning-Agyei, Mona Trofin and Yusuf Madi to audit manager roles within the Aberdeen office.

Mr Brown joined KPMG in 2011 and has 14 years’ experience in audit and assurance, having worked with both private and listed and regulated businesses.

In his new role, he will be supporting private equity-owned and owner-managed businesses in the north-east of Scotland, drawing on deep regional knowledge and sector expertise.

Commenting on his promotion, Mr Brown said: “Aberdeen and the north-east continue to play a vital role in the Scottish economy, particularly as the energy sector undergoes significant transition.

“I’m delighted to be taking on this role and to be working alongside my colleagues to support our clients as they adapt and grow.”

Kelly Dunn, audit partner at KPMG UK, added: “I’m very pleased to see Chris promoted, alongside others within our audit team, as it demonstrates our continued investment in Aberdeen, our Scotland audit practice and the wider north-east.

“As businesses become more complex and face new challenges, including changes to UK accounting standards such as FRS 102, KPMG’s breadth of expertise across audit, tax and advisory means we are well placed to support clients through an evolving reporting landscape.”
